"Paws of Good Smaritan" If you have a dog, then you know how its presence makes you feel better when you are vulnerable. In hospitals, where most touch is painful or invasive, the touch of an animal is safe, non-threatening, and pleasant in times of pain and suffering for a patient. It is well established that touch is very important for the nourishment of our mind, body and spirit. That is why Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center is providing Animal Assisted Activities. Animal Assisted Activities (AAA) is designed to promote improvement in human physical, social, emotional, and/or cognitive functioning.
